Building on the introductory Workshop on Effective Negotiation in Multilateral Conferences, this workshop takes place over two full days and consists of five modules: Re-cap of key negotiation approaches; Dynamics and particularities of multilateral environmental negotiations; Case studies and simulation exercises from the field of environmental agreements; Key challenges in negotiations. Methodology: This workshop is conducted by renowned trainers and experts on environmental negotiations. Delegates are required to participate actively in case studies, simulation exercises and peer discussions. They also receive study materials to enhance their holistic understanding about environmental negotiations. Targeted Audience:The workshop is open to members of permanent missions to the United Nations in New York who deal with environmental sustainability, climate change and multilateral environmental agreements. Registration is limited to 40 persons. Priortiy is given to delegates from developing countries and those who have completed the UNITAR Workshop on Effective Negotiation in Multilateral Conferences or other comparable introductory course on negotiation skills.
